| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Members of the National Exchange Club and its Texas |

|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Organized as a nonprofit in 1917, the National |

| 10 | 11 | | Exchange Club serves 12 regions and some 26 districts; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The mission of the National Exchange Club is to |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | inspire communities to become better places to live through the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | core values of family, community, and country, as well as to build a |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | strong America, safe communities, and unified people through |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | advocacy and service; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District serves some |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | 20 local Exchange Clubs throughout the region and helps to further |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | the national organization's mission; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District provides |

| 20 | 21 | | area clubs with a variety of educational initiatives and community |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | service opportunities, including the ongoing support of the ESCAPE |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Family Resource Center in Houston; the center maintains a strong |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | focus on the prevention of child abuse and neglect and offers |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | education, intervention, and support programs to families in |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | crisis, as well as parenting classes to families seeking guidance |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | in creating safe and happy homes; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Since their inceptions, both the National Exchange |

| 28 | 29 | | Club and the Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District have played vital |

| 29 | 30 | | roles in the communities they serve, and their members' willingness |

| 30 | 31 | | to give of their time and talents sets an outstanding example of |

| 31 | 32 | | civic engagement; now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 33 | 34 | | Legislature hereby recognize February 21, 2023, as Exchange Club |

| 34 | 35 | | Day at the State Capitol and extend to all those associated with the |

| 35 | 36 | | National Exchange Club and the Texas Louisiana Gulf Coast District |

| 36 | 37 | | sincere best wishes for continued success with their important |
