| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Sharing many significant social and economic |

| 9 | 9 | | characteristics, the member counties of the coalition are united in |

| 10 | 10 | | their efforts to further the vitality and prosperity of the region; |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The coalition's rural counties are an important |

| 13 | 13 | | transportation gateway, and the organization is dedicated to |

| 14 | 14 | | keeping freight moving, advancing rural broadband, and stimulating |

| 15 | 15 | | opportunities for innovation; in addition, the alliance |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | facilitates cooperation in all areas of regional and workforce |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | planning, supporting the retention and creation of jobs, as well as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | increased opportunities for education; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through its initiatives, the alliance advocates for |

| 20 | 20 | | area colleges and universities and for the parks and trails that |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | enhance the quality of life in the region; it also promotes careful |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | stewardship of monetary and natural resources; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, This noteworthy organization is helping to make |

| 24 | 24 | | Northeast Texas an even stronger and more vibrant place to live and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | work, and it is indeed fitting to recognize the alliance for its |

| 26 | 26 | | essential contributions; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
