| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Building Owners and Managers |

| 6 | 6 | | Association are gathering in Austin on February 22, 2023, to |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrate Texas BOMA Advocacy Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1937 as the state-federated |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | organization of BOMA International, Texas BOMA represents the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | interests of stakeholders in the commercial real estate business; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | it is composed of more than 2,500 members statewide and six |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | federated associations in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Fort |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Worth, Houston, and San Antonio; its members support over 100,000 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | jobs and add billions of dollars to the state's economy; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Texas BOMA is aligned with its parent organization |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and local affiliates in working to reduce the environmental impact |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of development by advancing energy efficiency and sustainability |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | initiatives; since 2007, BOMA International has been honored by the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | with 13 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Awards; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, For more than eight decades, Texas BOMA has served |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | as a voice for those who work in the commercial real estate industry |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | while helping to promote responsible building practices, and this |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | legislative day provides a fitting opportunity to honor the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | organization and its members; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby recognize February 22, 2023, as Texas Building |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Owners and Managers Association Advocacy Day at the State Capitol |

| 30 | 30 | | and extend to the members of the delegation sincere best wishes for |
