| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Muleshoe High School has been named a 2022 National |

| 6 | 6 | | Blue Ribbon School, one of the most prestigious designations an |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | elementary or secondary school in the United States can receive; |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program was created |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | by the U.S. Department of Education in 1982 to recognize campuses |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | that have demonstrated superior academic performance or made |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | notable progress in improving outcomes among economically |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | disadvantaged students; Muleshoe High School was one of only 297 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | public and private schools nationwide and 31 schools in Texas to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | have earned this impressive honor in 2022; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of principal Cindy |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Bessire, Muleshoe High School was selected for its exemplary work |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | in closing achievement gaps; the school has shown particular |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | progress in the math and English departments, and it also received |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | an A rating from the Texas Education Agency; the campus is part of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the Muleshoe Independent School District and serves approximately |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | 370 students in 9th through 12th grade; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Through hard work and perseverance, the teachers and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | students of Muleshoe High School have established a record of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | scholastic excellence, and their outstanding efforts have been duly |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | recognized with the Blue Ribbon School award; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Muleshoe High School on its |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | selection as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School by the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | U.S. Department of Education and extend to all those involved with |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | the school sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 33 | 33 | | prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
