| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Restaurant owner Jose Hoffman has distinguished |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | himself through his many contributions to the citizens of San |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Antonio; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hoffman is the son of the late Amado Hoffman, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | who in 1972 opened the original El Tipico Restaurant in San Antonio; |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | on May 12, 2016, the business was destroyed by fire, and Mr. Hoffman |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | subsequently oversaw the rebuilding of the restaurant, which |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | reopened in October 2017; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Following his father's death in March 2017, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Mr. Hoffman became the owner of Hoffman's Steakhouse, and today he |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | is at the helm of two El Tipico locations in San Antonio, which |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | together employ more than 60 area residents; dedicated to helping |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | his community, Mr. Hoffman donated approximately 5,000 enchilada |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | plates during the COVID-19 pandemic; his charitable endeavors have |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | also included giving away free school supplies and Thanksgiving |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | turkeys; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Jose Hoffman has proven himself a business and civic |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | leader of great drive and compassion, and he may indeed reflect with |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | pride on his efforts to help make his community a better place for |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | all; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend Jose Hoffman for his contributions to |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | San Antonio and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
