 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Residents of Temple lost an admired physician and a
 friend to many with the passing of Barbara Weiss Probe on September
 8, 2022, at the age of 61; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of Jane Weiss and Dr. Kurt Weiss, the
 former Barbara Weiss was born in Dallas on October 15, 1960, and
 grew up with five younger siblings, Carmen, David, Ruth, Katherine,
 and John; after graduating as valedictorian of Clear Creek High
 School, she went on to earn a bachelor's degree in biology from
 Baylor University and a medical degree from Texas A&M University;
 she married her junior high school sweetheart, Bob Probe, in 1986,
 and they were blessed with four children, Austin, Travis, Kurt, and
 Tori; eventually, her family grew to include two beloved
 granddaughters, Mackenzie and Onora; and
 WHEREAS, Dr. Probe's deep compassion and gift for connection
 led her to pursue a career as an internist, and she and her husband
 both joined a Scott & White medical group; devoted to her patients,
 she was firm in delivering health recommendations, but her kindness
 and unstinting encouragement earned their great affection as well
 as their respect and compliance; she was perennially listed among
 Texas Monthly magazine's "Best Physicians" over the course of 28
 years in practice; and
 WHEREAS, Dedicated to her community, Dr. Probe served on the
 board of the Temple Symphony Orchestra, and her fundraising prowess
 contributed significantly to the growth of its endowment; she
 further gave of her time and talents to the Methodist Church, the
 American Heart Association, the Ralph Wilson Youth Club, and the
 Temple Children's Museum; in addition, she was a supporter of the
 Crested Butte Conservation Corps; she found a lovely property in
 Crested Butte, Colorado, which she enjoyed sharing with family and
 friends; her antique-filled home reflected her appreciation for
 beauty as well; and
 WHEREAS, Following her diagnosis with glioblastoma in 2018,
 Dr. Probe bravely endured difficult surgeries and other treatment
 in order to extend her time with loved ones, and she continued to be
 a source of wisdom and comfort to all who knew her; although her
 passing brought them great sorrow, her life stands as an inspiring
 example of the good that one person can accomplish; now, therefore,
 be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Barbara Weiss Probe
 and extend sincere sympathy to all who mourn her passing; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara
 Weiss Probe.
