| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Society of Anesthesiologists |

| 6 | 6 | | are gathering in Austin on February 28, 2023, to commemorate Texas |

| 7 | 7 | | Anesthesiologists Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A recognized component of the American Society of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Anesthesiologists, the Texas organization was founded in 1936; it |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | works to promote, support, and advance the medical specialty of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | anesthesiology, and it engages in legislative and executive |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | advocacy; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The group strives to keep its 3,800 members |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | throughout the state informed about the latest developments in this |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | crucial field; members benefit greatly from the society's |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | continuing education programs and annual meetings; moreover, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | through a network of committees, TSA allows members to participate |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | in and make recommendations on numerous issues that are relevant to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the profession, including scientific, administrative, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | educational concerns; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Always emphasizing patient safety, the Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Society of Anesthesiologists makes invaluable contributions to the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | health and well-being of Texans, and it indeed merits special |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby recognize February 28, 2023, as Texas |
