| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The service of an admired Mason County official drew |

| 6 | 6 | | to a close when Jerry Bearden retired as county judge on |

| 7 | 7 | | December 31, 2022; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, First taking office on January 1, 2003, Judge |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Bearden served his fellow citizens with distinction throughout his |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | notable 20-year tenure; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Through his dedicated leadership and commitment to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | good governance, Jerry Bearden has helped make Mason County an even |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | better place in which to live and work, and he has set a standard of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | excellence to which others may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 16 | 16 | | Legislature hereby commend Jerry Bearden for his service as Mason |

| 17 | 17 | | County judge and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
