 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Steve Evans concluded his tenure as general manager
 of Southwest Texas Communications on December 31, 2022; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Evans first joined SW Texas in June 1984 as the
 commercial manager; in August 2001, he was promoted to general
 manager, and in the years since, he has dedicated himself to
 furthering the company's mission of providing communication
 services to the residents of the Texas Hill Country; and
 WHEREAS, When Mr. Evans began his career with SW Texas, it
 primarily offered voice services through copper landlines, the
 Internet did not yet exist, and there were few wireless phones; as
 technology advanced, he ably led the company into the 21st century,
 overseeing the transition to a fiber-optic network that supports
 voice, wireless, and high-speed data; and
 WHEREAS, While Mr. Evans plans to continue serving SW Texas
 and its customers on a reduced schedule, stepping down as general
 manager will afford him more time to spend with his wife, Laura, and
 their family; and
 WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and
 commitment to excellence, Steve Evans has greatly benefited
 Southwest Texas Communications, and he may indeed reflect with
 pride on his distinguished record of service as he embarks on the
 next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Steve Evans for his service as general
 manager of Southwest Texas Communications and extend to him sincere
 best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Evans as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
