44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The Honorable M. Rex Emerson retired from the 198th
66 Judicial District Court in Kerr and Bandera Counties on December
77 31, 2022, after 13 years on the bench; and
88 WHEREAS, Licensed by the State Bar of Texas, Judge Emerson
99 has worked as an attorney in Kerr County for more than two decades;
1010 he previously served as the Kerr County attorney, a position he held
1111 for five years, and he spent two years as the county's
1212 administrative judge; and
1313 WHEREAS, As a member of the Kerr County Juvenile Board, Judge
1414 Emerson has made vital contributions to the fair and proper
1515 administration of juvenile justice; moreover, he is a volunteer
1616 judge for the Kerr County Specialty Court, which he initiated in
1717 2019; and
1818 WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and
1919 commitment to the law, Judge Emerson has greatly benefited the
2020 citizens of Kerr County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
2121 accomplishments as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his
2222 life; now, therefore, be it
2323 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2424 Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable M. Rex Emerson on his
2525 retirement from the 198th Judicial District Court and extend to him
2626 sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
2727 further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for Judge Emerson as an expression of high regard by the
3030 Texas House of Representatives.
