| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ed Smith of Schleicher County was named the 2022 |

| 6 | 6 | | Outstanding Trapper of the Year by the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Association; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of Ballinger, Mr. Smith developed a strong |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | work ethic at an early age; his first job was delivering newspapers |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | on a paper route, and he spent his young adulthood working in the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | livestock industry; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Smith later worked in road maintenance in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Colorado, and after moving back to Texas in 1990, he managed |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | multiple road maintenance projects for the Texas Department of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Transportation throughout San Angelo, Brady, and Brownwood; he also |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | owned and operated his own road construction company in Richland |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Springs; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In 2015, Mr. Smith became a wildlife management |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife in San Saba County, where he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | honed his abilities tracking and preserving wildlife; two years |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | later, he moved to San Angelo and assumed his current position as a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | wildlife management specialist in Schleicher County; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Ed Smith has contributed significantly to his |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | profession, and he may indeed take great pride in his receipt of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | this notable accolade; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Ed Smith on being named the 2022 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Outstanding Trapper of the Year by the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
