 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Jim Quinn of Brady was elected president of the
 Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association at the organization's
 annual convention, held in Kerrville from July 14 to 16, 2022; and
 WHEREAS, Established in 1915, the Texas Sheep and Goat
 Raisers Association is the oldest sheep and goat organization in
 the United States; it advocates for production agriculture
 throughout Texas and beyond and seeks to educate the public about
 the importance of sheep and goats to agriculture and our economy;
 and
 WHEREAS, A longtime member of TSGRA, Mr. Quinn previously
 served the organization as a district director, and he played a
 vital role in updating the bylaws during his tenure on the group's
 bylaws committee; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Quinn graduated from Texas Tech University in
 1976 with a degree in agricultural education and subsequently
 joined his brother John in running their family's cattle and goat
 ranch near Brady; after sharing duties for a few years, the brothers
 divided up the property, and today Mr. Quinn and his wife, Cynthia,
 raise Kensing meat goats and commercial cattle; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Quinn has further contributed to his community
 through his involvement with the boards of Hickory Underground
 Water Conservation District No. 1 and the Farm Service Agency;
 moreover, he served as a McCulloch County commissioner for 12
 years; and
 WHEREAS, In taking on the role as president of TSGRA, Jim
 Quinn has demonstrated a profound commitment to the agricultural
 industry in Texas, and he will undoubtedly be a strong advocate for
 the members of the organization; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Jim Quinn on his election as
 president of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association and
 extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be
 it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Quinn as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
