| 6 | 6 | | celebrating the 20th anniversary of 2-1-1 Texas in 2023; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A public-private partnership overseen by the Texas |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Health and Human Services Commission, 2-1-1 Texas operates 25 area |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | information centers, 12 of which are managed by local United Ways; |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | this 24/7 statewide information hotline plays a crucial part in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | helping nonprofits, state leaders, and other stakeholders to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | understand the needs of their communities and in connecting |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | individuals with local resources; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The more than 60 local United Way organizations in |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Texas work to improve quality of life and strengthen communities |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | through education, financial stability, health, and nonprofit |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | sector capacity; to that end, they mobilize thousands of volunteers |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | each year and raise hundreds of millions of dollars, reinvesting |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the money to drive measurable change in the communities they serve; |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, For the past two decades, 2-1-1 Texas has assisted |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | countless residents in navigating a wide range of agencies and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | programs to get the services they need, and in so doing, it is |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | helping build a brighter future for all; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 20th anniversary of 2-1-1 Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and extend to United Way staff, volunteers, and donors sincere |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | gratitude for their contributions to the program and to the State of |
