| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members and alumni of Leadership Gillespie County |

| 6 | 6 | | are visiting the State Capitol on March 1, 2023; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Created by the Fredericksburg Chamber of Commerce in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | 1994, Leadership Gillespie County was formed to expand the network |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of potential county leaders and to enhance its participants' |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | knowledge of local issues and familiarity with area businesses, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | schools, hospitals, government, and civic and charitable |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | organizations; over the years, the program has helped more than 500 |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | area residents develop a greater understanding of the challenges |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and opportunities facing the community; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Leadership Gillespie County requires a two-year |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | commitment, and its members take part in a program that inspires |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | advocacy and teamwork; participants in the 2023 class include |
