| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Isabelle Grace Martin, an extraordinary young Texan |

| 6 | 6 | | who demonstrated inspiring courage and character in the face of |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | adversity, passed away on July 29, 2022, at the age of 12; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born on February 7, 2010, in Plano, Izzy Martin was |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | blessed with the love and affection of her parents, Christine and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | David Martin, and her three siblings, Faith, Madeleine, and Luke, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | as well as her extended family; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Izzy attended Episcopal School of Dallas, where she |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | particularly liked learning about math and science; she was also a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | talented dancer who loved to express herself through art, and she |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | enjoyed the camaraderie she found at the Dance Industry Performing |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Arts Center in Plano; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Despite the challenges she faced from a diagnosis |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | with osteosarcoma, Izzy dedicated her life to helping others; she |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | raised more than $500,000 for cancer research through the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Children's Cancer Fund and the Osteosarcoma Institute, and she |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | further demonstrated her compassionate and selfless nature by |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | donating hundreds of care packages to the Austin Street Center and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | participating in the United Way Teens United community service |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | program as an inaugural member; in 2021, she was named the People |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Newspapers Readers' Choice Person of the Year in recognition of her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | outstanding accomplishments; throughout her life, Izzy drew great |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | strength from her Catholic faith; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Izzy Martin set an inspiring example through the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | kindness, determination, and joyful spirit that she brought to her |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | every endeavor, and although her journey on this earth ended far too |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | soon, she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | who were fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Isabelle Grace |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Martin and extend deepest condolences to the members of her family: |

| 36 | 36 | | to her parents, Christine and David Martin; to her siblings, Faith, |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Madeleine, and Luke; to her grandparents, Mary Anne and Paul Fego |

| 38 | 38 | | and Jeannie and Bill Martin; to her aunt and uncle, Sara and Randall |
