| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Fernando Manuel Madrid is retiring from the San |

| 6 | 6 | | Elizario Independent School District Board of Trustees on March 31, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2023, after nearly three decades of service to the district; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Fernie Madrid began his tenure with the board of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | trustees on May 1, 1993, at the age of 25; he became the board's vice |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | president in 1999, and he went on to serve as its secretary for |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | approximately 14 years; he has worked alongside four |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | superintendents, and he has played a significant role in a number of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | important projects, including the construction of San Elizario High |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | School and Borrego and Sambrano Elementary Schools and a wide range |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of campus additions and improvements in the district; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A 1986 graduate of San Elizario High, Mr. Madrid has |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | enjoyed a successful career in retail management, and he takes |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | great pride in his three children, Gilbert, Derek, and April; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through his tireless efforts in behalf of the San |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Elizario Independent School District, Fernie Madrid has earned the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | lasting respect and appreciation of his fellow citizens, and his |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | many valuable contributions will continue to resonate in the years |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to come; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Fernando Manuel Madrid on his |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | retirement from the San Elizario Independent School District and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 29 | 29 | | prepared for Mr. Madrid as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
