| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Laura Nietfeld of San Antonio is serving as |

| 6 | 6 | | Physician of the Day at the State Capitol on March 10, 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Since 1971, the Physician of the Day program at the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | State Capitol has provided for a doctor to be on call each day of a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | legislative session as a resource for legislators and support |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | staff; family physicians travel from all over the state to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | volunteer their time and expertise at the Capitol health clinic; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Laura Nietfeld serves as core faculty and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | director of preclinical students for the CHRISTUS Health/Texas A&M |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | University College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency in San |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Antonio; moreover, she is adjunct clinical faculty with The |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | University of the Incarnate Word; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Prior to moving to San Antonio, Dr. Nietfeld |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | received her family medicine training and completed her master |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | teachers fellowship at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | she also spent several years working at BCM as an assistant |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | professor and serving with the Harris Health System and the Harris |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | County Public Health Refugee Health Screening Program; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Laura Nietfeld has demonstrated exceptional |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | dedication to her profession and to her fellow citizens, and it is |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | indeed fitting to honor her for her service to the legislative |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor Dr. Laura Nietfeld for her participation |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | in the Physician of the Day program and extend to her sincere best |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
