| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, JD Janda, the director of fine arts for the Tomball |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Independent School District, has been named the 2023 Outstanding |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Fine Arts Administrator by the Texas Fine Arts Administrators; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Janda has distinguished himself over the course |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of his 42-year career in public education, which has included 22 |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | years as a music director at James E. Taylor High School and 6 years |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | as the director of curriculum and fine arts for Georgetown ISD; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | since being hired to his current position with Tomball ISD in July |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | 2015, he has been responsible for supervising the district's dance, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | theater, visual arts, and music departments; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. Janda has steadfastly worked to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | enhance fine arts opportunities for Texas students at both the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | state and local levels; he has served in several statewide |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | leadership roles, including president of the Texas Music |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Administrators Conference, president of the Texas Music Educators |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Association, and TMEA State Band chair, in addition to sharing his |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | expertise as a member of the UIL State Music Technical Advisory |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Committee for multiple terms; he was also recognized by his peers at |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | TMEA's annual convention in San Antonio; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, JD Janda has enriched the lives of many Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | students by encouraging them to explore and develop their creative |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | talents, and he has set an example of excellence to which all in his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate JD Janda on his selection as the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2023 Outstanding Fine Arts Administrator by the Texas Fine Arts |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Administrators and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |

| 32 | 32 | | success with his important work; and, be it further |
