| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center |

| 6 | 6 | | Society are gathering in Austin on March 8, 2023, for Ambulatory |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Surgery Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, An alternative to hospitalization for acute care, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | ambulatory surgery centers perform outpatient procedures that |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | enable individuals to check out the same day and recover in the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | comfort of their own home; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, There are currently more than 500 ambulatory surgery |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | centers licensed for operation by the Texas Department of State |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Health Services, and these facilities treat hundreds of thousands |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of patients each year; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, By providing quality medical care at a comparatively |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | low cost, ambulatory surgery centers are helping to ensure the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | health and well-being of Texas residents, and these facilities are |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | indeed deserving of recognition for the important role they play in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the state's health care system; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Legislature hereby recognize March 8, 2023, as Ambulatory Surgery |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Center Awareness Day at the State Capitol and commend the Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Ambulatory Surgery Center Society for its work; and, be it further |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 26 | 26 | | prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|---|
