9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, During their regular schedule, the Eagles dropped |

10 | 10 | | just two games, and they claimed the District 1-3A title with a |

11 | 11 | | perfect record against their league rivals; in the playoffs, the |

12 | 12 | | team recorded blowout victories against Trinity School of Midland, |
---|
13 | 13 | | Lucas Christian Academy, and Akiba Yavneh Academy of Dallas to |

14 | 14 | | advance to the state finale; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Lubbock Christian took the floor against |

16 | 16 | | St. Francis Episcopal School of Houston on February 23 with the |

17 | 17 | | state crown on the line; in the second quarter, the Eagles outscored |
---|
18 | 18 | | their opponent 17-10 to take a six-point lead into halftime, but |

19 | 19 | | repeated rallies by St. Francis in the second half kept the game |
---|
20 | 20 | | close into the final minutes; making key defensive stops and |
---|
21 | 21 | | demonstrating tremendous poise from the charity stripe, the Eagles |
---|
22 | 22 | | sank several clutch free throws in the last minute to triumph by the |
---|
23 | 23 | | final score of 55-51; the win secured the program's first state |
---|
24 | 24 | | championship since 2013; and |

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Asher Fleming led the Eagles with 23 points in the |

26 | 26 | | title game, and Trew Farris and Riley Schroeder joined him on the 3A |

27 | 27 | | All-Tournament Team; Lubbock Christian also received valuable |

28 | 28 | | contributions throughout the season from the other members of the |

29 | 29 | | roster: Hays Hubik, Luke Lee, Welker Horn, Joseph Fernihough, |
