| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Our communities draw immeasurable strength from |

| 6 | 6 | | individuals such as Samuel Perez Jr., whose efforts in behalf of his |

| 7 | 7 | | fellow citizens have contributed greatly to quality of life in the |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Converse area and beyond; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sammy Perez has given back to his community through |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | a variety of leadership roles, including as chair of the Converse |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Parks and Recreation Commission, president of the Converse Lions |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Club, and zone chair for Lions Clubs International; moreover, he |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | has supported agricultural education in the region as president of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the Judson FFA Alumni, as vice president of the Bexar County Junior |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Livestock Association, as vice president of the Texas Playboys |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Inc. charitable organization, and as a member of the San Antonio |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Stock Show & Rodeo Board of Directors; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, An alumnus of Judson High School, Mr. Perez has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | enjoyed a nearly three-decade-long career working for CPS Energy in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | San Antonio, where he currently serves as the employee development |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | manager; he is the proud father of two daughters; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The people of Converse are fortunate to have such |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | passionate and engaged citizens as Sammy Perez, whose history of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | civic involvement is an inspiration to all who know him; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Samuel Perez Jr. for his many |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | contributions to his community and extend to him sincere best |

| 29 | 29 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
