| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Aubrey Kistler of Southwest High School in Fort |

| 6 | 6 | | Worth has been named the 2022-2023 Friedman Chair for Teaching |

| 7 | 7 | | Excellence in Performing Arts; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Established by the Fort Worth Independent School |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | District in 1994, the Chairs for Teaching Excellence program was |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | designed to recognize outstanding educators; the recipients of this |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | noteworthy award hold the title for one year and receive a $5,000 |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | honorarium; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Kistler earned her bachelor's degree from Texas |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Christian University, and she is in her fifth year as a member of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the Southwest High School faculty; she currently serves as the head |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | choral director, using music to help her students achieve both |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | their academic and personal goals; under her able leadership, the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | choral program has grown exponentially through classroom culture, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | communication, and community outreach; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, During her tenure, Ms. Kistler has taken several |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | choir groups to compete at UIL contests, and she began the school |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | district's only competitive show choir; additionally, Southwest |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Choir has earned numerous regional and state titles, as well as its |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | first national title; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, The performing arts broaden horizons and deepen |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | understanding of the human condition, and through her skill, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | enthusiasm, and dedication to her field, Aubrey Kistler has |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | enriched the lives of numerous students; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Aubrey Kistler on being named the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 2022-2023 Friedman Chair for Teaching Excellence in Performing Arts |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be |
