| 6 | 6 | | enjoyed an outstanding 2022-2023 season, advancing all the way to |

| 7 | 7 | | the Region II championship game of the University Interscholastic |

| 8 | 8 | | League 2A playoffs; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Starting the year in impressive fashion, the Lady |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Indians went undefeated in regular-season play and clinched the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | district championship; Nocona then rode a wave of momentum into the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | postseason, easily dispatching Haskell, Valley Mills, and Stamford |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | High Schools to claim the team's first regional tournament |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | appearance since 1995; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Nocona opened regional action with a 34-29 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | semifinals decision over Muenster High School to secure a coveted |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | berth in the regional final; in that contest, the Lady Indians |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | turned in a valiant effort against Lipan High School, but they saw |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | their season come to an end, closing out the year with an |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | exceptional final record of 37 wins and just one loss; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Lady Indians |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | received valuable contributions from each member of the roster over |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the course of the 2022-2023 campaign; these determined |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | student-athletes were ably guided by head coach Kyle Spitzer and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | his staff; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, The talented and hardworking members of the Nocona |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Lady Indians basketball team proudly represented their school with |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | their thrilling playoff run, and they are a source of great pride |

| 29 | 29 | | for their fellow students and their many supporters in the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | community; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Nocona High School girls' |

| 33 | 33 | | basketball team on advancing to the Region II championship game of |

| 34 | 34 | | the 2023 UIL 2A playoffs and extend to the players, coaches, and |
