44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
66 passing of Kenneth Lee Haedge of Killeen on February 11, 2023, at
77 the age of 83; and
88 WHEREAS, A third-generation Texan, Kenneth Haedge was born in
99 the Willow Springs community near Killeen on July 15, 1939, to Joe
1010 Adolph and Edna Earl Haedge, and he grew up with the companionship
1111 of three sisters, Sharon, Joetta, and Lanelle; he attended Lampasas
1212 High School, where he was involved with the FFA; and
1313 WHEREAS, Following his graduation in 1957, Mr. Haedge was
1414 employed by the U.S. Civil Service Commission as a directorate of
1515 engineering and housing, and he would eventually retire as chief of
1616 the Supply Operation Section after 29 years of dedicated service;
1717 alongside his professional career, he spent many years raising
1818 cattle on the Fort Hood range, using the grazing rights gained by
1919 his family after their displacement in the 1940s; he kept cattle,
2020 sheep, and goats on his own ranchland as well; and
2121 WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Haedge served as a
2222 member of the Central Texas Cattlemen's Association, and he was
2323 named one of the Bell County Ring of Honor Ranchers in 2013; he was
2424 also a founding member of LifeWay Fellowship in Killeen; and
2525 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Haedge enjoyed the love
2626 and support of his wife, the former Marjory Ann Fraunhofer, with
2727 whom he shared 58 years; his beloved dog, Calvin Earl Haedge, was a
2828 constant companion; and
2929 WHEREAS, Although Kenneth Haedge is deeply missed, he has
3030 left his family and friends with a wealth of wonderful memories, and
3131 he will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now,
3232 therefore, be it
3333 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3434 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kenneth Lee Haedge and
3535 extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
3636 wife, Marge Haedge; to his sister, Sharon Erwin, and her husband,
3737 Robert; to his brother-in-law, Harold Fraunhofer, and his wife,
3838 Joyce; to his nephews, Brad Butts, Alan Erwin, Mark Frank, and Peter
3939 and Steven Fraunhofer; to his nieces, Amy Erwin Aldridge, Janine
4040 Rothman, Cindy Rum, Marianne Seider, and Lisa Dawn Singleton; and
4141 to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
4242 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4343 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4444 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenneth
4545 Haedge.
