5	5	WHEREAS, The Oil Belt Little League Junior All-Stars achieved
6	6	great distinction by becoming the U.S. Junior League Baseball World
7	7	Series Champions and advancing to the world championship game at
8	8	the 2022 Junior League Baseball World Series, held in August in
9	9	Taylor, Michigan; and
10	10	WHEREAS, A group of talented 14-and-under ballplayers from
11	11	the Corpus Christi area, the Oil Belt Little League Junior
12	12	All-Stars embarked on their journey to the U.S. title with a
13	13	dominant performance at the Southwest Region Tournament in
14	14	Albuquerque, New Mexico; the Oil Belt players outscored their
15	15	opponents by a three-game total of 55-8 to win the tournament and
16	16	claim the ballclub's first appearance in the Junior League World
17	17	Series since 2014; and
18	18	WHEREAS, In their opening world series contest on August 15,
19	19	the Junior All-Stars hit two home runs and scored eight runs in the
20	20	first two innings before going on to a 13-1 victory over Hawaii;
21	21	taking the field in the next round against the East representatives
22	22	from Keystone Little League in Pennsylvania, Oil Belt collected
23	23	seven runs in the fifth inning for a 10-3 win and a berth in the U.S.
24	24	championship game; that contest turned out to be a rematch against
25	25	Keystone on August 20, and the Oil Belt squad held the lead from the
26	26	first inning on, triumphing 12-4 for the national crown; the team
27	27	then faced the Chinese Taipei squad on August 21 for the world
28	28	championship; the Junior All-Stars turned in a valiant effort in
29	29	the game but ultimately finished as runner-up; over the course of
30	30	their outstanding summer campaign, the Oil Belt players scored a
31	31	total of 216 runs while limiting their opponents to just 36; and
32	32	WHEREAS, Excelling with a true team effort, the Junior
33	33	All-Stars benefited from the valuable contributions made by each
34	34	member of the roster: Dallin DeBellas, Aiden Flores, Drayton
35	35	Mitchell, Danny Acuña, Jaden Martinez, Collier Carroll, Jace
36	36	Arriaga, Reese Rusher, Samuel Cecava, Jagger Batek, Lucas Saenz,
37	37	Zaccariah Morales, and Blake Quinn; these determined athletes were
38	38	ably guided by manager Daniel Saenz and coaches Nathan Mitchell and
39	39	Brendon Saenz; and
40	40	WHEREAS, The members of the Oil Belt Little League Junior
41	41	All-Stars proudly represented their city and state in one of the
42	42	premier showcases for youth athletics, and they will treasure their
43	43	memories of this achievement for many years to come; now,
44	44	therefore, be it
45	45	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
46	46	Legislature hereby congratulate the Oil Belt Little League Junior
47	47	All-Stars on becoming the 2022 U.S. Junior League Baseball World
48	48	Series Champions and extend to the team's players and coaches
49	49	sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
50	50	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
51	51	prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
52	52	House of Representatives.
