5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bridgett Wilson, a 15-year-old junior at Terrell |

6 | 6 | | High School, has made history by becoming the youngest credentialed |

7 | 7 | | member of the American Academy of Professional Coders; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Terrell, Ms. Wilson obtained |
---|
9 | 9 | | her Certified Professional Coder credential through a virtual, |
---|
10 | 10 | | instructor-led training program offered by Arkansas State |
---|
11 | 11 | | University Three Rivers in association with AAPC; she enrolled in |
---|
12 | 12 | | the program alongside her mother, Rose Wilson, who immigrated to |
---|
13 | 13 | | the United States from Kenya and who currently works in the |
---|
14 | 14 | | radiology department at White Rock Medical Center in Dallas; the |
---|
15 | 15 | | Wilson family also includes Bridgett's two younger sisters, for |
---|
16 | 16 | | whom she hopes to set a good example; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In addition to excelling in various advanced |
---|
18 | 18 | | placement courses, Bridgett Wilson is currently a member of her |
---|
19 | 19 | | school's Honor Society and drill team; she is also pursuing an |
---|
20 | 20 | | associate's degree from Trinity Valley Community College through a |
---|
21 | 21 | | dual credit program; after her graduation from high school, she |
---|
22 | 22 | | plans to study dentistry at Texas A&M University on her way to one |
---|
23 | 23 | | day opening her own pediatric dental or orthodontic practice; in |
---|
24 | 24 | | the meantime, she hopes to use her professional coding |
---|
25 | 25 | | certification to find part-time or volunteer work as a medical |
---|
26 | 26 | | coder; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has worked toward her |
---|
28 | 28 | | goals with exceptional diligence and determination, and she may |
---|
29 | 29 | | take justifiable pride in this achievement as she looks forward to a |
---|
30 | 30 | | future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |

31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Bridgett Wilson on becoming the |
