44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Bridgett Wilson, a 15-year-old junior at Terrell
66 High School, has made history by becoming the youngest credentialed
77 member of the American Academy of Professional Coders; and
88 WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Terrell, Ms. Wilson obtained
99 her Certified Professional Coder credential through a virtual,
1010 instructor-led training program offered by Arkansas State
1111 University Three Rivers in association with AAPC; she enrolled in
1212 the program alongside her mother, Rose Wilson, who immigrated to
1313 the United States from Kenya and who currently works in the
1414 radiology department at White Rock Medical Center in Dallas; the
1515 Wilson family also includes Bridgett's two younger sisters, for
1616 whom she hopes to set a good example; and
1717 WHEREAS, In addition to excelling in various advanced
1818 placement courses, Bridgett Wilson is currently a member of her
1919 school's Honor Society and drill team; she is also pursuing an
2020 associate's degree from Trinity Valley Community College through a
2121 dual credit program; after her graduation from high school, she
2222 plans to study dentistry at Texas A&M University on her way to one
2323 day opening her own pediatric dental or orthodontic practice; in
2424 the meantime, she hopes to use her professional coding
2525 certification to find part-time or volunteer work as a medical
2626 coder; and
2727 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has worked toward her
2828 goals with exceptional diligence and determination, and she may
2929 take justifiable pride in this achievement as she looks forward to a
3030 future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3232 Legislature hereby congratulate Bridgett Wilson on becoming the
3333 youngest credentialed member of the American Academy of
3434 Professional Coders and extend to her sincere best wishes for
3535 continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
3636 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3737 prepared for Ms. Wilson as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3838 House of Representatives.
