| 6 | 6 | | State Capitol on March 21, 2023, for Firefighter Appreciation Day |

| 7 | 7 | | and a memorial service honoring their fallen comrades; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In the event of an accident, medical emergency, or |

| 9 | 9 | | large-scale disaster, firefighters are often the first on the scene |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | to deliver lifesaving care and assistance; although we are |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fortunate that so many of our citizens willingly accept this noble |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | calling, their work is not without risk, and these exceptional |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | individuals routinely face great hazards in the line of duty; and |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, At the ceremony in Austin, 31 firefighters who made |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the ultimate sacrifice from 2019 through 2022 are being honored by |
