| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ysmael D. Fonseca Jr. was appointed by Governor Greg |

| 6 | 6 | | Abbott to serve as judge of the 476th Judicial District Court in |

| 7 | 7 | | Hidalgo County on March 15, 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Judge Fonseca is a partner at Guerra & Sabo, PLLC, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | and he previously served as judge of the 464th Judicial District |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Court, where he presided over thousands of criminal, family, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | civil cases; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, A member of the State Bar of Texas, Judge Fonseca |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | also belongs to the Hidalgo County Bar Association, the Claims and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Litigation Management Alliance, and the Federalist Society; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | civically engaged, he serves on the board of numerous community |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | organizations, including RGV LEAD and the Shary Foundation, where |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | he has also volunteered as a high school professional mentor; he |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | earned both his bachelor's degree and his law degree from the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | University of Notre Dame; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Ysmael Fonseca has upheld the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | highest standards of his profession, and the expertise he has |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | acquired along the way will serve him well as he takes on this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | important new role; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable Ysmael D. Fonseca Jr. |

| 26 | 26 | | on his appointment to the 476th Judicial District Court and extend |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | to him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it |
