5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close |

6 | 6 | | with the passing of Nick Bradshaw of Wimberley on February 4, 2023; |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born in McAllen in 1948, Mr. Bradshaw attended Texas |
---|
9 | 9 | | A&M University before transferring to The University of Texas at |
---|
10 | 10 | | Austin, where he graduated with a degree in aerospace engineering |
---|
11 | 11 | | in 1971; after a brief time operating a house-painting business |
---|
12 | 12 | | with friends, he began his engineering career with the Lockheed |
---|
13 | 13 | | Missiles and Space Company in Sunnyvale, California; less than a |
---|
14 | 14 | | year later, he started working for a small marine engineering |
---|
15 | 15 | | consulting company in San Francisco that quickly became the premier |
---|
16 | 16 | | designer of offshore structures for oil production, and he went on |
---|
17 | 17 | | to enjoy a long and rewarding tenure with the company that took him |
---|
18 | 18 | | throughout the United States and the world, including London, where |
---|
19 | 19 | | he lived for 11 years; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In 2006, Mr. Bradshaw semi-retired and returned to |
---|
21 | 21 | | Texas; making his home in Wimberley, he became involved with a |
---|
22 | 22 | | number of organizations, such as the Wimberley Democrats and the |
---|
23 | 23 | | Hays County Master Gardeners, and he was also a board member and |
---|
24 | 24 | | past president of the Wimberley Players; in his leisure time, he |
---|
25 | 25 | | enjoyed traveling, gardening, and watching Texas Longhorn football |
---|
26 | 26 | | games; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Bradshaw benefited from |
---|
28 | 28 | | the love and support of his wife, Debbie, with whom he shared 50 |
---|
29 | 29 | | years, and he was the proud father of three children, Ben, Nate, and |
---|
30 | 30 | | Lauren; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Although Nick Bradshaw is deeply missed, memories of |
---|
32 | 32 | | his passion for life, his wonderful sense of humor, and his devotion |
---|
33 | 33 | | to his family remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; |
---|
34 | 34 | | now, therefore, be it |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Nick Bradshaw and |
---|
37 | 37 | | extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it |

39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
