| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Page Michel began her tenure as president and chief |

| 6 | 6 | | executive officer of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce on |

| 7 | 7 | | October 3, 2022; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Michel graduated with a bachelor's degree from |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Western Carolina University, and she also holds an IOM |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | certification from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Organization Management; she brings to her new position more than |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing, government |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | advocacy, and nonprofit association management; previously, she |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | served for 14 years as president of the Washington County Chamber of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Commerce and Brenham Economic Development Foundation, and more |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | recently, she led the Texas City-La Marque Chamber in Galveston |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | County as president for two years; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Under Mrs. Michel's leadership, the San Marcos Area |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Chamber of Commerce will continue to maintain its high level of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | excellence and community involvement; she also plans to implement |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | new benefits for both members and investors; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Michel has contributed her time and talents to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | a number of statewide and local organizations, including the Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Rotary Club, and CASA; in all |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | her endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of her husband and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | their two sons; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, With her leadership experience and her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | long-standing commitment to excellence, Page Michel will |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | undoubtedly be a strong and dynamic advocate for the chamber in its |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | mission to support and promote the San Marcos business community; |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Page Michel on her appointment as |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | president and CEO of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce and |
