| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The City of Kyle dedicated its new Heroes Memorial |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Park with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 11, 2022; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Heroes Memorial Park is designed to be a space for |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | reflection, remembrance, and celebration of the military |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | personnel, law enforcement, firefighters, and other first |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | responders who have called Kyle and Hays County home; located |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | within the city's new Brick and Mortar District, the park features a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | memorial garden, along with educational displays and other |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | activities for visitors of all ages; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Part of the first phase of the Brick and Mortar |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | District, Heroes Memorial Park is situated on a 138-acre mixed-use |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | development within the Plum Creek master-planned community, which |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | will also include an event lawn and a pedestrian and bike trail; the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | district and its accompanying park were partially funded by a tax |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | increment finance district, and guidance for the project was |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | provided by the Kyle City Council and the Tax Increment |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Reinvestment Zone No. 2 Board; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | military and civilian personnel who put themselves in harm's way to |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | defend our safety, security, and freedom, and Kyle's new Heroes |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Memorial Park is a fitting tribute to the service and sacrifice of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | those courageous men and women; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the dedication of Heroes Memorial |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Park in Kyle and commend all those associated with this project for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | their efforts in bringing it to fruition; and, be it further |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
