5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Brian McCoy concluded his tenure as chief executive |

6 | 6 | | officer of McCoy's Building Supply on May 31, 2022, following more |

7 | 7 | | than two decades at the helm of the organization; and |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Based in San Marcos, McCoy's Building Supply was |
---|
9 | 9 | | founded by Mr. McCoy's grandfather, Frank McCoy, in 1927; Brian |
---|
10 | 10 | | McCoy has been involved with the company for 50 years, and he has |
---|
11 | 11 | | held a variety of positions, including yard hand, truck driver, |
---|
12 | 12 | | floor salesperson, assistant store manager, store manager, |
---|
13 | 13 | | merchandise manager, vice president, and copresident; he became |
---|
14 | 14 | | president and CEO in 2001, and he also serves as chair of the board |
---|
15 | 15 | | of directors; with his retirement, Meagan McCoy Jones, Mr. McCoy's |
---|
16 | 16 | | daughter, takes over as president and CEO of the family-owned |
---|
17 | 17 | | business, which today encompasses 90 locations across five states; |

19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his work with McCoy's Building |

20 | 20 | | Supply, Mr. McCoy is a partner in McCoy Remme Ranches, and he serves |

21 | 21 | | as board president of the Emmett and Miriam McCoy College of |

22 | 22 | | Business Administration Development Foundation at Texas State |
---|
23 | 23 | | University; he is a former board president of the Lumbermen's |
---|
24 | 24 | | Association of Texas; and |

25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Among his many honors, Mr. McCoy received the 2003 |

26 | 26 | | Ethics in Business Award from the Samaritan Center in Austin, and he |
---|
27 | 27 | | was named the 2004 Business Person of the Year by the San Marcos |
---|
28 | 28 | | Area Chamber of Commerce; he holds a bachelor's degree in finance |

29 | 29 | | from Texas Tech University, and in 2006, he was recognized as a |

30 | 30 | | Distinguished Alumnus of the Rawls College of Business; in 2012, he |

31 | 31 | | received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the Texas Tech Alumni |

33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Brian McCoy's visionary leadership and unwavering |

34 | 34 | | commitment to excellence have played a vital role in the success of |

35 | 35 | | McCoy's Building Supply, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his |

36 | 36 | | contributions to this respected Texas company; now, therefore, be |
