45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Humane Legislation Network are
67 gathering at the State Capitol on March 23, 2023; and
78 WHEREAS, Founded by Texans for Texas Animals in 1975, the
89 Texas Humane Legislation Network strives to protect animals through
910 advocacy and education initiatives; the organization is composed of
1011 more than 27,000 members and donors, including animal shelter and
1112 rescue workers and law enforcement personnel, and is led by a board
1213 of directors encompassing a variety of animal law experts; and
1314 WHEREAS, A nonpartisan entity, THLN collaborates with
1415 elected officials in seeking enforceable anti-cruelty measures;
1516 its members also work closely with stakeholders such as
1617 veterinarians, shelter and sanctuary directors, animal control
1718 officers, and prosecutors and judges at the local, state, and
1819 federal levels; and
1920 WHEREAS, For nearly half a century, THLN has worked
2021 tirelessly to improve the welfare of animals throughout the Lone
2122 Star State, and all those associated with the organization are
2223 indeed deserving of commendation for their myriad contributions;
2324 now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby recognize March 23, 2023, as Texas Humane
2627 Legislation Network Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm
2728 welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for THLN as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
3031 of Representatives.
