55 WHEREAS, Women's History Month is held in March to celebrate
66 the myriad contributions made by women in every field and facet of
77 our society, and this observance provides a fitting opportunity to
88 recognize the exemplary service of Melissa N. Ortega; and
99 WHEREAS, Dr. Ortega has distinguished herself through her
1010 dedicated efforts as a member of the State Board of Education, and
1111 the skill and professionalism she has demonstrated in this
1212 important role have earned her the respect and admiration of her
1313 fellow Texans; and
1414 WHEREAS, Through her deep commitment to her duties,
1515 Dr. Ortega greatly benefits the citizens she serves, and her
1616 achievements make her a worthy role model for other women seeking
1717 public office; and
1818 WHEREAS, The Lone Star State is fortunate to have passionate
1919 and engaged leaders like Melissa N. Ortega, and she may take
2020 justifiable pride in her contributions and in the inspiring example
2121 she has set for others; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2323 Legislature hereby commend Melissa N. Ortega for her service as a
2424 member of the State Board of Education and extend to her sincere
2525 best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it
2626 further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Dr. Ortega as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2929 House of Representatives.
