| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Women's History Month is held in March to celebrate |

| 6 | 6 | | the myriad contributions made by women in every field and facet of |

| 7 | 7 | | our society, and this observance provides a fitting opportunity to |

| 8 | 8 | | recognize the exemplary service of Melissa N. Ortega; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Ortega has distinguished herself through her |

| 10 | 10 | | dedicated efforts as a member of the State Board of Education, and |

| 11 | 11 | | the skill and professionalism she has demonstrated in this |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | important role have earned her the respect and admiration of her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | fellow Texans; and |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Through her deep commitment to her duties, |

| 15 | 15 | | Dr. Ortega greatly benefits the citizens she serves, and her |
