5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Principal Amy McAfee of Crandall Middle School won |

7 | 7 | | a summer institute at The Principals' Center at the Harvard |

8 | 8 | | Graduate School of Education in 2022; and |

9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1981, The Principals' Center offers |
---|
10 | 10 | | professional development programs to school leaders from around the |
---|
11 | 11 | | world; its summer institute allows participants the opportunity to |
---|
12 | 12 | | take part in a weeklong workshop on leadership development led by |
---|
13 | 13 | | Harvard faculty members and other national and international |
---|
14 | 14 | | experts; attendees from Texas are selected by the Charles Butt |
---|
15 | 15 | | Foundation through its Raising School Leaders program, which covers |
---|
16 | 16 | | all expenses for the summer institute, including travel, lodging, |
---|
17 | 17 | | and tuition; Ms. McAfee was one of 85 educators from across the Lone |
---|
18 | 18 | | Star State to attend the 2022 institute; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Amy McAfee has been an educator for nearly three |
---|
20 | 20 | | decades, and she is entering her 10th year as principal of Crandall |
---|
21 | 21 | | Middle School; she previously worked for the Mabank Independent |
---|
22 | 22 | | School District as a teacher, an instructional coach, a counselor, |
---|
23 | 23 | | and an elementary and middle school assistant principal; she holds |
---|
24 | 24 | | a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies and a master's |
---|
25 | 25 | | degree in education from Texas A&M University-Commerce, as well as |
---|
26 | 26 | | certifications in school counseling and administration; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through her skill, dedication, and professionalism, |
---|
28 | 28 | | Amy McAfee is helping to provide a strong academic foundation for |
---|
29 | 29 | | the students of Crandall Middle School, and her selection for this |
---|
30 | 30 | | prestigious program represents a significant milestone in her |
---|
31 | 31 | | career; now, therefore, be it |

32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Amy McAfee on her participation in |

34 | 34 | | The Principals' Center summer institute at Harvard University and |
