55 WHEREAS, Women's History Month is held in March to celebrate
66 the myriad contributions made by women in every field and facet of
77 our society, and this observance provides a fitting opportunity to
88 recognize the exemplary service of Ellen Smyth; and
99 WHEREAS, Ms. Smyth has distinguished herself through her
1010 dedicated efforts as chief transit and field operations officer for
1111 the City of El Paso, and the skill and professionalism she has
1212 demonstrated in this important role have earned her the respect and
1313 admiration of her fellow Texans; and
1414 WHEREAS, Through her deep commitment to her duties, Ms. Smyth
1515 greatly benefits the citizens she serves, and her achievements make
1616 her a worthy role model for other women in municipal government; and
1717 WHEREAS, The Lone Star State is fortunate to have passionate
1818 and engaged leaders like Ellen Smyth, and she may take justifiable
1919 pride in her contributions and in the inspiring example she has set
2020 for others; now, therefore, be it
2121 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2222 Legislature hereby commend Ellen Smyth for her service as chief
2323 transit and field operations officer for the City of El Paso and
2424 extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her
2525 endeavors; and, be it further
2626 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2727 prepared for Ms. Smyth as an expression of high regard by the Texas
2828 House of Representatives.
