44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The passing of esteemed attorney Allen Linn
66 Williamson of Runaway Bay on May 14, 2022, at the age of 47, has
77 brought a great loss to his family and many friends; and
88 WHEREAS, The son of Dan and Elizabeth Williamson, Allen
99 Williamson was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, on October 30, 1974; he
1010 completed his bachelor's degree in speech communication at Texas
1111 A&M University and graduated from Texas A&M School of Law; early in
1212 his career, he was the first assistant district attorney for the
1313 271st Judicial District Court covering Wise and Jack Counties; he
1414 went on to become a founding partner of the Boyd Powers & Williamson
1515 law firm; board certified in criminal law, he focused on complex
1616 civil litigation in recent years, and he was recognized on the
1717 Thomson Reuters list of Texas Super Lawyers for nearly a decade; and
1818 WHEREAS, Mr. Williamson was a member of the American Board of
1919 Trial Advocates and served as president-elect of the Fort Worth
2020 Chapter; in addition, he benefited the State Bar of Texas as a
2121 member of the Pattern Jury Charges and Professionalism Committees;
2222 deeply committed to his community, he shared his expertise as a
2323 member of civic organizations, including the Wise Health Foundation
2424 board; he served as Wise County Republican Chair from 2008 to 2018;
2525 a man of strong faith, he was a valued member of Grace Fellowship;
2626 and
2727 WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Williamson shared a
2828 fulfilling marriage with his high school sweetheart, Mendee
2929 Williamson, and he was the proud father of three children, Jessica,
3030 Amber, and Aaron; big-hearted, enthusiastic, and outgoing, he
3131 extended friendship to all he encountered, winning the admiration
3232 and affection of innumerable people; and
3333 WHEREAS, Allen Williamson led a caring and purposeful life,
3434 and although he is greatly missed by those he has left behind, they
3535 will forever treasure their memories of his warmth, kindness, and
3636 wonderful sense of humor; now, therefore, be it
3737 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3838 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Allen Linn Williamson
3939 and extend deepest sympathy to all those who mourn his passing; and,
4040 be it further
4141 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4242 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4343 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Allen
4444 Williamson.
