5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The passing of esteemed attorney Allen Linn |

6 | 6 | | Williamson of Runaway Bay on May 14, 2022, at the age of 47, has |

7 | 7 | | brought a great loss to his family and many friends; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Dan and Elizabeth Williamson, Allen |
---|
9 | 9 | | Williamson was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, on October 30, 1974; he |
---|
10 | 10 | | completed his bachelor's degree in speech communication at Texas |
---|
11 | 11 | | A&M University and graduated from Texas A&M School of Law; early in |
---|
12 | 12 | | his career, he was the first assistant district attorney for the |
---|
13 | 13 | | 271st Judicial District Court covering Wise and Jack Counties; he |
---|
14 | 14 | | went on to become a founding partner of the Boyd Powers & Williamson |
---|
15 | 15 | | law firm; board certified in criminal law, he focused on complex |
---|
16 | 16 | | civil litigation in recent years, and he was recognized on the |
---|
17 | 17 | | Thomson Reuters list of Texas Super Lawyers for nearly a decade; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Williamson was a member of the American Board of |
---|
19 | 19 | | Trial Advocates and served as president-elect of the Fort Worth |
---|
20 | 20 | | Chapter; in addition, he benefited the State Bar of Texas as a |
---|
21 | 21 | | member of the Pattern Jury Charges and Professionalism Committees; |
---|
22 | 22 | | deeply committed to his community, he shared his expertise as a |
---|
23 | 23 | | member of civic organizations, including the Wise Health Foundation |
---|
24 | 24 | | board; he served as Wise County Republican Chair from 2008 to 2018; |
---|
25 | 25 | | a man of strong faith, he was a valued member of Grace Fellowship; |
---|
26 | 26 | | and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, Mr. Williamson shared a |
---|
28 | 28 | | fulfilling marriage with his high school sweetheart, Mendee |
---|
29 | 29 | | Williamson, and he was the proud father of three children, Jessica, |
---|
30 | 30 | | Amber, and Aaron; big-hearted, enthusiastic, and outgoing, he |
---|
31 | 31 | | extended friendship to all he encountered, winning the admiration |
---|
32 | 32 | | and affection of innumerable people; and |
---|
33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Allen Williamson led a caring and purposeful life, |
---|
34 | 34 | | and although he is greatly missed by those he has left behind, they |
---|
35 | 35 | | will forever treasure their memories of his warmth, kindness, and |
---|
36 | 36 | | wonderful sense of humor; now, therefore, be it |
---|
37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

38 | 38 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Allen Linn Williamson |
---|
39 | 39 | | and extend deepest sympathy to all those who mourn his passing; and, |
