5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Plano ISD Education Foundation is celebrating |

6 | 6 | | its 30th anniversary in 2023, and this occasion offers a fitting |
---|
7 | 7 | | opportunity to recognize its myriad contributions to the Plano |
---|
8 | 8 | | Independent School District; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A nonprofit led by local business and community |
---|
10 | 10 | | leaders, the Plano Education Foundation was established in 1993 to |
---|
11 | 11 | | support Plano ISD students, instructors, and schools; in keeping |
---|
12 | 12 | | with its mission, the organization partners with more than 40 |
---|
13 | 13 | | businesses and organizations in the North Texas area to provide |
---|
14 | 14 | | resources that go above and beyond the Plano ISD normal operating |
---|
15 | 15 | | budget; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, the Plano ISD Education Foundation |
---|
17 | 17 | | has generated over $22 million in private support for a wide variety |
---|
18 | 18 | | of initiatives that benefit teachers, students, and their families, |
---|
19 | 19 | | including AVID Elementary, the CORE Store, an employee crisis fund, |
---|
20 | 20 | | the PISD 100 Employee Recognition Program, grants to teachers, a |
---|
21 | 21 | | back-to-school fair, health sciences certifications for students, |
---|
22 | 22 | | a welcome and enrollment center, support for professional learning, |
---|
23 | 23 | | the Robbie & Lynore Robinson Fine Arts Center, the Health Sciences |
---|
24 | 24 | | Academy, and the Richards Douglass Immediate Needs Fund; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, The foundation currently benefits from the able |
---|
26 | 26 | | leadership of president Missy Bender, president-elect Jenna |
---|
27 | 27 | | Maynard, immediate past president Jeff Beckley, treasurer Joshua |
---|
28 | 28 | | Bourgeois, assistant secretary Harshal Chhaya, secretary Leanne |
---|
29 | 29 | | Libby, and senior executive director Brittnea Ussery; and |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, For three decades, the Plano ISD Education |

31 | 31 | | Foundation has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to meeting |
---|
32 | 32 | | the needs of the local school district while playing a vital role in |
---|
33 | 33 | | helping young Texans achieve their full potential; now, therefore, |
---|

35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Plano |

37 | 37 | | ISD Education Foundation and extend to the organization's |

38 | 38 | | administration and staff sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
