5	5	WHEREAS, Public-spirited citizens from across the Lone Star
6	6	State are gathering in Austin on April 18, 2023, to advocate for
7	7	women and their families during Blue Ribbon Lobby Day at the State
8	8	Capitol; and
9	9	WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day brings together members of
10	10	Texas Democratic Women and other concerned women and leaders from
11	11	around the state to draw attention to issues of importance to Texas
12	12	women, including public education, health care, and economic
13	13	security; and
14	14	WHEREAS, During this day of action, Democratic women are
15	15	meeting with legislators to discuss the need to ensure that women
16	16	have equal opportunities and that their rights are equally
17	17	protected in order that Texas' prosperity may continue; organizers
18	18	for this year's event include Mary Ho, Sue Barrick, Daysi Marin,
19	19	Farha Ahmed, Mary Morrison, Sofia Sheikh, Kawanda Miller Polk,
20	20	Marti Fagley, and Kassandra Elejarza; and
21	21	WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Lobby Day presents an opportunity to
22	22	call attention to the concerns of Texas women and their families and
23	23	to work to make a positive difference in the Lone Star State; now,
24	24	therefore, be it
25	25	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
26	26	Legislature hereby recognize April 18, 2023, as Blue Ribbon Lobby
27	27	Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome to the advocates
28	28	who are visiting here today.
