| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Jack Oliver Faegre of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Denton were deeply saddened by his passing on March 11, 2023, at the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | age of 88; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Selmer Albert Faegre and Mabel Lucile |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Monroe, Jack Faegre was born in Jefferson Township, Iowa, on June |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 15, 1934, and he grew up with the companionship of his sister, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Phyllis; he graduated from Iowa State University with an |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | engineering degree, and from 1959 to 1970, he served as an officer |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, retiring at the rank of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | captain; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Faegre subsequently moved to Texas and began |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | working for Texas Instruments in Dallas; he later held engineering |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | positions with Frito-Lay and Rockwell International; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Following his retirement from Rockwell, Mr. Faegre |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | settled in the Robson Ranch community in Denton and became actively |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | involved in county elections, serving as an election judge and as |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the only Republican precinct chair for Robson Ranch for nearly 20 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | years; an advocate for voter participation, he was instrumental in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | establishing the Robson Ranch clubhouse as a polling site for early |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and election-day voting; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Faegre benefited from the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | love and support of his wife, Creeda; he took great pride in his |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | children, Kyle, Carrie, and the late Lorna Fallon, and his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | stepchildren, Brandon and Christopher, and he was further blessed |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | with six grandchildren, Max, Sam, Heather, Elliott, Nathaniel, and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Ashlyn, and a great-grandchild, Maci; he was a lifelong fan of the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Dallas Cowboys, and in his younger years, he was an avid skier and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | enjoyed taking family ski trips to Colorado; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Although Jack Faegre will be greatly missed, he has |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | left his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will forever |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | cherish; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jack Oliver Faegre and |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn his passing; and, be it |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | further |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jack |
