44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Jack Oliver Faegre of
66 Denton were deeply saddened by his passing on March 11, 2023, at the
77 age of 88; and
88 WHEREAS, The son of Selmer Albert Faegre and Mabel Lucile
99 Monroe, Jack Faegre was born in Jefferson Township, Iowa, on June
1010 15, 1934, and he grew up with the companionship of his sister,
1111 Phyllis; he graduated from Iowa State University with an
1212 engineering degree, and from 1959 to 1970, he served as an officer
1313 in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, retiring at the rank of
1414 captain; and
1515 WHEREAS, Mr. Faegre subsequently moved to Texas and began
1616 working for Texas Instruments in Dallas; he later held engineering
1717 positions with Frito-Lay and Rockwell International; and
1818 WHEREAS, Following his retirement from Rockwell, Mr. Faegre
1919 settled in the Robson Ranch community in Denton and became actively
2020 involved in county elections, serving as an election judge and as
2121 the only Republican precinct chair for Robson Ranch for nearly 20
2222 years; an advocate for voter participation, he was instrumental in
2323 establishing the Robson Ranch clubhouse as a polling site for early
2424 and election-day voting; and
2525 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Faegre benefited from the
2626 love and support of his wife, Creeda; he took great pride in his
2727 children, Kyle, Carrie, and the late Lorna Fallon, and his
2828 stepchildren, Brandon and Christopher, and he was further blessed
2929 with six grandchildren, Max, Sam, Heather, Elliott, Nathaniel, and
3030 Ashlyn, and a great-grandchild, Maci; he was a lifelong fan of the
3131 Dallas Cowboys, and in his younger years, he was an avid skier and
3232 enjoyed taking family ski trips to Colorado; and
3333 WHEREAS, Although Jack Faegre will be greatly missed, he has
3434 left his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will forever
3535 cherish; now, therefore, be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3737 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jack Oliver Faegre and
3838 extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn his passing; and, be it
3939 further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4242 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jack
4343 Faegre.
