| 7 | 7 | | treatments and other procedures with the goal of saving a patient's |

| 8 | 8 | | natural teeth; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, As specialists, these individuals complete three |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | years of additional training beyond dental school to acquire the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | knowledge and skills necessary to identify and treat complex issues |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | related to the interior of the teeth; they possess outstanding |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | precision and hand-eye coordination, and they utilize the most |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | advanced and up-to-date technology to provide their patients with |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | the highest standard of care; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Endodontists limit their practice solely to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | endodontic treatments and perform an average of 25 root canal |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | procedures per week; they often work as partners with general |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | dentists, and they explore all treatment options to determine the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | best course of action for each individual case; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Through the important services they provide, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | endodontists help patients maintain their natural smiles and avoid |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | the need for dental care at emergency rooms and urgent care |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | facilities, and their expertise is crucial to the well-being of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | countless Texans each year; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby recognize May 2023 as Save Your Tooth Month and |
