| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The North Texas Disability Chamber (NTXDC) was |

| 6 | 6 | | founded in December 2020 with the mission to provide a local network |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | for people with all forms of disability; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The organization is the fifth cross-disability |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | chamber in the nation and the fourth such chamber in the state of |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Texas; it is dedicated to promoting a more cohesive, transparent, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and informed cross-disability community by hosting events and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | educational programs for its members at accessible locations across |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | North Texas; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, NTXDC's regular events include Community |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Connections, a quarterly networking meeting that brings together |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | members of both the abled and disabled community; the organization |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | is also committed to keeping its members actively engaged in public |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | policy discussions with its Disability Issues Forum, to fostering |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | mentoring relationships, and to sponsoring other programs and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | events for the benefit of its members and the wider community; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The North Texas Disability Chamber is committed to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | being an effective advocate and resource for Texans with |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | disabilities, and its members and leadership may indeed take pride |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | in the work they are doing to advance this worthy cause; now, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor the North Texas Disability Chamber and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | extend to all those affiliated with the organization sincere best |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
