| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Among its awards, the Eastlake FFA chapter claimed a |

| 9 | 9 | | 10th-place showing at the area Agricultural Issues Forum Leadership |

| 10 | 10 | | Development Event; in this competition, students research a current |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | agricultural issue, create a portfolio, develop a presentation that |

| 12 | 12 | | outlines the pros and cons of their topic, and present their |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | findings to a panel of judges; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, In November 2022, Eastlake competed at the Rocky |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Mountain District Leadership Development Event, excelling in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | categories including senior and Spanish creed speaking, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | agricultural advocacy, greenhand quiz, and senior quiz; its |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | first-place and second-place teams advanced to the Area 2 |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Leadership Development Events, where they performed well in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | agricultural advocacy, agricultural issues forum, greenhand and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | senior quiz, and senior creed speaking; in February 2023, the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Eastlake contingent competed at the Rocky Mountain District |

| 23 | 23 | | Speaking Development Event finishing second in agriculture policy, |

| 24 | 24 | | prepared public speaking, and soil stewardship as well as third in |
|---|

|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of the year, Eastlake FFA students |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | exhibited their poultry, rabbit, lamb, goat, and swine projects at |

| 28 | 28 | | the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo, the San Angelo Stock Show, and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and at the El Paso County Fair, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the Southern New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo, and the State Fair of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Texas; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Through countless hours of preparation and an |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | unwavering commitment to excellence, the Eastlake FFA members have |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | brought tremendous credit to their school and their community, and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | they may take justifiable pride in their many successes; now, |

| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
