| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 6 | | passing of Maria Elisa Gracia Sanchez of Robstown on March 1, 2023, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 91; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Matias Gracia and Eva Suarez Gracia, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | the former Maria Elisa Gracia was born in Kenedy on July 1, 1931, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and she grew up with the companionship of three siblings, Martin, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Mario, and Luis; she was employed as a cook for the Robstown |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Independent School District and retired after a decade of dedicated |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | service; through the years, she was a loyal and passionate |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | supporter of the Robstown High School sports teams; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Sanchez shared a rewarding marriage with |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Rosendo Sanchez Sr. until the time of his passing, and they became |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the parents of seven children, Rosendo, Elsa, Pete, Robert, Maria, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Ricardo, and Raul, who preceded his mother in death; Mrs. Sanchez |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | was further blessed with 12 grandchildren and 8 |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | great-grandchildren, and she treasured her role as the loving |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | matriarch of her family; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Maria Elisa Sanchez lived a caring and purposeful |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | life, and she will forever be remembered with great admiration and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | affection by all who held her close to their hearts; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Maria Elisa Gracia |

| 28 | 28 | | Sanchez and extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to |

| 29 | 29 | | her children, Rosendo Sanchez Jr. and his wife, Debbie, Elsa |

| 30 | 30 | | Sanchez, Pete Sanchez and his wife, Flora, Robert Sanchez and his |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | wife, Denise, Maria "Loly" Carrion and her husband, Abel, and |

| 32 | 32 | | Ricardo Sanchez and his wife, Nelda; to her grandchildren, Ryan, |
