| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The inaugural Kindness Crusade in the Richardson |

| 6 | 6 | | Independent School District took place from February 13 through 17, |

| 7 | 7 | | 2023, providing a fitting opportunity to recognize Jane Tucker for |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | designing and leading the campaign; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A member of Altrusa International of Richardson, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Ms. Tucker united nearly 23,000 students at Richardson ISD |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | elementary schools through the Kindness Crusade; during the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | program, participants read and discussed Her Own Two Feet: A |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Rwandan Girl's Brave Fight to Walk by Meredith Davis and Rebeka |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Uwitonze, a nonfiction novel about a young girl affected by |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | congenital clubfoot; the book was selected for the initiative to |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | teach students the importance of kindness and empathy and to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | provide them with an opportunity to learn more about disabilities; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Tucker has further distinguished herself |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | through her contributions to other local organizations, such as |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Friends Place Adult Day Services; in 2020, she played an |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | instrumental role in raising funds for the center's Longest Day |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | event, which benefits the Alzheimer's Association; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedicated and compassionate efforts, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Jane Tucker has made a positive difference in her community, and she |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | has set an inspiring example of civic engagement to which others may |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend Jane Tucker for her contributions to the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | inaugural Kindness Crusade in the Richardson Independent School |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | District and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
