5	5	WHEREAS, The members of the Berkner High School Bill Club
6	6	have distinguished themselves as advocates for positive change in
7	7	their school and community; and
8	8	WHEREAS, The group has worked to promote legislation that
9	9	would expand mental health resources in the Lone Star State; after
10	10	identifying a severe lack of mental health services in Texas
11	11	schools, the group proposed a bill that would require school
12	12	districts to annually evaluate students' mental health and employ
13	13	at least one professional psychologist for every 600 students at
14	14	each school; and
15	15	WHEREAS, The outstanding students who contributed to the
16	16	Berkner Bill initiative include Claira Shaugnessy, Leslie Galaviz,
17	17	Alena Tran, Skarleth Villeda, Emmanuel Godfreey, Fayyed Ahmed, Alan
18	18	Aradillas, Becca Lian, and Faith Joslin; and
19	19	WHEREAS, The members of the Berkner High School Bill Club
20	20	have set an inspiring example of civic engagement, and it is truly a
21	21	pleasure to recognize these admirable young Texans for their
22	22	accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
23	23	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
24	24	Legislature hereby commend the members of the Berkner High School
25	25	Bill Club for their advocacy efforts and extend to all those
26	26	associated with the group sincere best wishes for the future; and,
27	27	be it further
28	28	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
29	29	prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas
30	30	House of Representatives.
