| 6 | 6 | | Department is being inducted into the National Law Enforcement |

| 7 | 7 | | Officer Hall of Fame on March 30, 2023; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Created in 2017, the National Law Enforcement |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Officer Hall of Fame recognizes those officers who have gone above |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and beyond in the line of duty to make a positive difference in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | their communities; in addition to his induction, Detective Godwin |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | is being presented with the organization's Career Achievement |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Award; both honors were announced by the Texas Municipal Police |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Association, the state's largest law enforcement organization; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A 30-year law enforcement veteran, Detective Godwin |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | was assigned to the Garland Police Department's Criminal |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Investigations Division in 2005, and for more than 13 years, he has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | worked with the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Force; he is a nationally recognized expert in this area, and he |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | cohosts Catfish Cops, a podcast featuring true stories about |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | predators and how cases are solved; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Tony Godwin's tireless efforts have greatly |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | benefited the residents of Garland and the North Texas region and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow officers, and he |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | may indeed take great pride in this prestigious honor; now, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Detective Tony Godwin of the |
