| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The members of the TechnoBotz robotics team from the |

| 6 | 6 | | Frisco Independent School District distinguished themselves by |

| 7 | 7 | | advancing to the state championship event for the FIRST Lego |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | League; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The FIRST Lego League provides students with |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | opportunities to design, build, program, and operate robots while |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | developing important STEM skills; in addition, participants are |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | tasked with finding innovative and sustainable ways of generating |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | electricity and addressing climate change; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Made up of a group of determined seventh- and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | eighth-grade students, the Frisco ISD team took part in the North |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Texas qualifying event and the North Texas/Panhandle finals, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | finishing in third place and earning the Champions Award at both |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | competitions; TechnoBotz then advanced to the state championship, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | where the team faced off against top robotics squads from |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | throughout Texas; turning in an impressive performance, the Frisco |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | students earned 11th place in the robot game and second place for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | their core values presentation; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Throughout the year, TechnoBotz received valuable |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | contributions from each of its members: Tanmay Kandi and Rameez |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Nathoo of Lawler Middle School, Abhay Chilka of Nelson Middle |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | School, and Arush Garlapad of Fowler Middle School; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, With their fine showing at the state contest, the |

| 28 | 28 | | students on the TechnoBotz robotics team have demonstrated |

| 29 | 29 | | tremendous skill, initiative, and dedication, and they are a source |

| 30 | 30 | | of great pride to their community; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the TechnoBotz robotics team from |

| 33 | 33 | | Frisco ISD on competing in the FIRST Lego League state championship |

| 34 | 34 | | and extend to all those associated with the team sincere best wishes |
