H.R. No. 943 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Toyota Motor North America has partnered with Collin College to offer the Technician Training and Education Network program at the college's Technical Campus in Allen; and WHEREAS, Beginning in fall 2023, T-TEN will provide students with hands-on automotive diagnosis and repair training while connecting them with skilled mentors and internships at car dealerships; the program's participants will also be able to obtain a number of certificates and degrees, including technician training certifications for National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence as well as Toyota and Lexus certifications; and WHEREAS, Collin College and Toyota have shared a rewarding partnership since the company moved its national headquarters to Plano in 2014; T-TEN will expand the school's Technical Education College Support Elite program, which offers online training modules for students pursuing careers as Toyota or Lexus certified technicians; and WHEREAS, Currently, there only 38 institutions across the nation that have implemented T-TEN programs; first developed in 1986, T-TEN has distinguished itself by focusing on the latest technologies in Toyota vehicles; and WHEREAS, Through T-TEN, Collin College and Toyota are preparing area students to excel in their future careers, and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing all those who are contributing their time and talents to this endeavor; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby recognize Collin College and Toyota for establishing the Technician Training and Education Network program at the Technical Campus in Allen and extend to the program's participants sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Collin College and Toyota as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
