| 6 | 6 | | recipient of the 2023 City Council of the Year Award from the Texas |

|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, This notable accolade recognizes city councils that |

| 9 | 9 | | have made significant contributions to local government in the Lone |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Star State; the Mansfield council is being honored for its |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | commitment to ethics, citizen welfare, policy-making, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | financial management and for fostering positive community |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | relations; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Led by Mayor Michael Evans and Mayor Pro Tem Todd |

| 15 | 15 | | Tonore, the Mansfield council includes council members Tamera |

| 16 | 16 | | Bounds, Casey Lewis, Julie Short, and Larry Broseh; among their |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | responsibilities, the council members serve as liaisons to a number |

| 18 | 18 | | of advisory committees, and they play an instrumental role in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | guiding the economic development of Mansfield, a fast-growing city |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | of more than 74,000 people that is bolstered by its health care, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | retail trade, and manufacturing industries; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Committed champions of their community, the members |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of the Mansfield City Council have demonstrated exemplary |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | leadership in behalf of their fellow citizens, and they are truly |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | deserving of this recent honor; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Mansfield City Council on its |

| 28 | 28 | | selection as the 2023 City Council of the Year by the Texas City |

| 29 | 29 | | Management Association and extend to its members sincere best |
